Opening the Gateway to Health and Consciousness

Poets, teachers, artists, writers, spiritual guides and so many others have been pointing to and speaking of the inner stillness that is possible for every human being.

In fact, this inner stillness is replenishing, restful and helps each of us connect with the Source of our being. This peace is our Home inside the body…..the doorway to this peace is the midline.

As you read these inspirations, we invite you to rest down and into your own midline, and allow the words and images to nourish your felt sense of inner peace and wholeness.

Welcome to your midline.

Our own midline is like a single branch on the tree of life. And all of these branches are united through the Dynamic Stillness, out of which informs the design of life. It’s not just true for us, but its true for all living things.

This midline is dynamic throughout life.

Understanding the importance of the midline and its communication and everything has to communicate with it and it has to center to it and they have to hear each other and when they hear each other you have health.
James Jealous, D.O. Midline No. 1: Biodynamics of Osteopathy CD Series

Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is the silence in us, not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal. The sort of silence that is a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are. We are all hungry for this other silence. It is hard to find. In its presence we can remember something beyond the moment, a strength on which to build a life. Silence is a place of great power and healing.
Rachel Naomi Remen

Build your inner environment. Practice silence.
Paramahansa Yogananda

Our gatherings are not a substitute for action; they are an initiation into a state of being from which the necessary kinds of action arise. Soon you will say, with wonder and serenity, “I know what to do, and I trust myself to do it.
Charles Eisenstein

You can’t calm the storm…so stop trying. What you can do is calm yourself. The storm will pass.
Timber Hawkeye

The stillness in the midline is the true midline, not the life force field, and certainly not the cellular structures that surround it….The stillness in the midline is a single doorway through which Primary Respiration ignites the fires of life and reestablishes the pattern of the health in the individual…Our own midline is a single branch on the Tree of Life. All of these (branches) are united through the Dynamic Stillness, and informs the design of Life.

The midline emanates a coherent bioelectric field around which structure and function are created. This field of stillness is organized into the forces used for embryonic development. After embryogenesis is complete, the midline’s resonant signals convey the coherent instructions for the maintenance, defense, healing, immunity, and perceptual development of the bodymind.

We need to understand the importance of the midline and its communication. Everything has to communicate with it and everything has to center to it and they have to hear each other and when they hear each other you have health. It’s very, very important.
James Jealous, D.O. Midline No. 1: Biodynamics of Osteopathy CD Series

Close your eyes and you will see clearly.

Cease to listen and you will hear truth.

Be silent and your heart will sing.

Seek no contact and you will find union.

Be still and you will move on the tide of Spirit.
Taoist poem (anonymous)

Each of us has an ever-faithful companion-presence. Something that is always with us. Something that helps us live with inner integrity and depth, to see through the outer coverings of others and of the world to their purpose and core being, and to get over placing ourselves at the center of everything.

This companion-presence is Silence. It never goes away. We go away from it, become distracted and forgetful, and lose the manners needed to nurture companionship with it.

…Silence was here before anything else, and it envelops everything else. It is the most primary phenomenon of existence, both palpably something and seemingly nothing. Silence is prior to sound, not the cessation of sound. It is already present.

If we drop into quietness just for a moment, we feel the presence of Silence as an invitation. The center of our bodily being is the organ for receiving this invitation from the Silence.

As we enter the mystery of Silence, its presence resonates throughout the fibers of our flesh, while extending beyond the flesh to the soul inwardly and to the cosmos outwardly.

Our body’s center is the necessary meeting point where the inward Silence of solitude meets up with the great Silence of Cosmic Wisdom.

When we do not cultivate this meeting point in the right ways, we lose access to our soul, to the presence of the Silence, and to our individual place in the Wisdom of the World. Without Silence, we are lost and cannot get still enough to find our way back.

Silence bears the wholeness we keep looking for while we do not know exactly what we are looking for. It is around us and within us. It goes to the deepest depths of the soul into the outermost reaches of the cosmos and continually unites the two at the centering place of a heart.

Here we discover the power of re-creation. Here everything comes alive again as if for the first time.

This secret and this mystery are so revolutionary that all who aspire to commercialize the world conspire to bury the secret in the noise of the world. And intimation of the strength of this mystery causes us to run to that noise, though we are not conscious that we are doing so.
Robert Sardello  Silence: The Mystery of Wholeness

May your recognize in your life the presence
power and light of your soul.

May you realize that you are never alone,
that your soul in its brightness and belonging
connects you intimately with the rhythm of the universe.
John O’Donohue “For Solitude”

Silence is the communing of a conscious soul with itself. If the soul attends for a moment to its own infinity, then and there is silence. She is audible to all men, at all times, in all places, and if we will we may always hearken to her admonitions.
Henry David Thoreau

Man has to learn to seek first the kingdom of heaven, the place of stillness and quiet at the highest level of which he is capable, and then the heavenly influences can pour into him, recreate him and use him for the salvation of mankind.
White Eagle

Know that you have a center.
Know that you belong there.
Know that the path to the center takes no effort.
Deepak Chopra

When you’re with stillness, you merge on some level with everything around you…you will have the stillness with you all the time. It doesn’t leave. It never leaves. It is constantly with you—a sense of being. A sense of completion. And a sense of silence. A level of peace is with you at all times.
Swami Sai Premananda

My body is the temple, where flesh and spirit unite

Ultimately there is light and love and intelligence in this universe. And we are it, we carry that within us, it’s not just something out there, it is within us and this is what we are trying to re-connect with, our original light and love and intelligence, which is who we are, so do not get so distracted by all this other stuff…really remember what we are here on this planet for.
Tenzin Palmo

Once there is a certain degree of Presence, of still and alert attention in human beings’ perceptions, they can sense the divine life essence, the one indwelling consciousness or spirit in every creature, every life-form, recognize it as one with their own essence and so love it as themselves.
Eckhart Tolle

This love is actually part of you, it is always flowing through you. It’s like the subatomic texture of the universe, the dark matter that connects everything.
Ram Dass

The Infinite that has become the body.
Paramahansa Yogananda

Without (the midline) we would have no form, no function, no structure and no point of orientation for our consciousness. Even our perception has a relationship to this midline.

The midline is a Dynamic Stillness through which and into which there is an ignition and out of that ignition comes the bioelectric field that is around the stillness of the midline.
James Jealous, D.O.  Midline No. 1: Biodynamics of Osteopathy CD Series

Be still. The quieter you become, the more you can hear.
Ram Dass

The Soul always knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind
Caroline Myss

To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions.
Deepak Chopra

Silence has a music of its own. It is not dead, it is very much alive, it is tremendously alive. In fact, nothing is more alive than silence.

You are as intimately connected to the vast expanse of Dynamic Stillness as to infinitesimal stillness within each subatomic particle in your cells.

The Breath of Life unites all- she contains us and she is in us, like a fish in the ocean.
Charles Ridley:  Stillness, Biodynamic Cranial Practice and the Evolution of Consciousness

There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.
Martha Graham

There is stillness, out of which emerge infinite patterns that create form…

By letting yourself be as you are, you permit life to unfold as it is, and you step into non-duality.
Charles Ridley  Stillness

The Creator gathered all of Creation and said,  “I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it.  It is the realization that they create their own reality.”

The eagle said, “Give it to me.  I will take it to the moon.”

The Creator said, “No.  One day they will go there and find it.”

The salmon said, “I will bury it on the bottom of the ocean.”

The Creator said, “No.  They will go there too.”

The buffalo said, “I will bury it on the Great Plains.”

The Creator said, “They will cut into the skin of the earth and find it even there.”

Grandmother Mole, who lives in the breast of Mother Earth, and who has no physical eyes but sees with spiritual eyes, said, “Put it inside of them.”

And the Creator said, “It is done.”
Padma and Aon Prakasha Womb Wisdom

The greatest privilege of a human life is to become midwife to the birth of the soul.
